Facts and Figures for the Program
(i) For the five Tamworth Rotary Clubs for the 2001            Program

  • 3472 kits were sold

  • 2666 kits were returned and tested ( 77% return rate )

  • 28 screened positive ( 1.05% positivity rate )


(ii) For all Clubs in Distrrict 9650 for the 2000 Program
  • 28580 kits were sold

  • 22623 kits were returned and tested

  • 344 screened positive, with a female positivity rate of 1.2% and a male positivity rate of 2.0%


(iii) Commencing in 1987, the Rotary District 9650 Bowelscan Program has so far assisted in the diagnosis of 347 colorectal cancers and 1145 polyps (these figures don't include the 2001 Program).

(iv) Australia-wide there are about 9500 new cases of colorectal cancer each year, and about 4500 deaths from the disease.
